Genetic Testing During Pregnancy

The use of essential oils in aromatherapy has been used for centuries. Frankincense and Myrrh were noted in biblical times as a heavily useful meditation fragrance. It is well known that using essential oils can help alleviate a lot of the aches and pains that come with the day’s stress and anxiety. Although the term aromatherapy is now used, it did not become a common term until the 1920’s.

The main ingredient in aromatherapy is the essential oils. Essential oils are extracted from various plants that contain therapeutic effects. The extract is removed, distilled, and bottled in pure form. They are highly potent oils, and they need to be diluted before proper use as an inhalant or cream.

There are a variety of ways to use the essential oils. Before choosing, you should research and study which essential oil is best for your condition. Test the fragrance to make sure there are no allergies. Place a small amount of diluted solution on your skin to make sure that it will not cause any skin irritations.

Place a few drops in a bath and relax your mind and body. Preparing a warm bath and diluting essential oils in the bath can relieve you from mind fatigue. It is incredibly relaxing which is important for an expectant mother. They can also help relieve the aches and pains from your muscles or the tension from the day’s events. If you prefer to take a shower, place some droplets behind the drain where the oil can have time to dilute. The warm shower water will dilute the oil leaving an incredibly soothing fragrance.

Although many essential oils have individual benefits, there are also good combinations. Certain combinations of key essential oils can provide a more potent way to treat mental issues and emotional imbalances. They can also help you regain memory and get rid of irritability.

Essential oils are also great for massage use. Tiny droplets diluted in massage oils can enhance a massage by relieving tension in muscles and helping soothe sore aches and pains. Use the oils on the temples, forehead, and scalp creates a relaxing effect that removes headaches and leaves your mind refreshed and clear.

Pregnant women are prone to hormonal imbalances that cause stress and anxiety. Aromatherapy can be used to help pregnant women relax and help balance their emotions. Small amounts can be placed in bath water or in a vaporizer to inhale the therapeutic scents. Below is a list of essential oils that will help you relax during your pregnancy.

There are several highly recommended exercises for pregnant women that may fit their needs and preferences. Some can be as common as walking while others may be as specific as yoga. The exercises for pregnant women that should be highlighted are those that have the maximum benefit with the least amount of stress. Stress can negatively affect pregnant women which is why stress should be avoided.

Preconditioning

Most exercises for pregnant women act to condition their bodies for the next several months which will be full of changes, both externally and internally. While not all exercises for pregnant women may seem able to penetrate the mind due to its being too physical, there is some effect which will benefit the mind. The knowledge that she is fit during pregnancy will help ease the mind of the individual. This will give her confidence to cope with what pregnancy may bring her during the next months of gestation.

It is not only the mind which is preconditioned to perform well during childbirth but also the muscles are trained to perform well.Getting enough exercise for pregnant women will benefit them in the sense that they can have stronger and more resilient muscles as well as a body that can cope with childbirth, and even before and after it.

Muscles And Endurance

Exercise during pregnancy will yield better toned muscles and bones which can help the woman deal with the enormity of childbirth and the vast physical changes that she may experience during the time. The many different forms of exercises for pregnant women can help tone and flex muscles. Endurance is also important especially during a prolonged labor which may tax the woman sorely. Some muscles may not be visible from but can be exercised in the inside such as the pelvic muscles. The Kiegel’s exercise for pregnant women will give the, strong pelvic muscles that can cope with contractions and faster healing after giving birth. Stronger pelvic muscles can also help the woman push the infant out through the birth canal when the time of childbirth comes.

Concentrating on a particular exercise for pregnant women can be great but getting the different muscle groups to work well in a coordinated fashion will benefit you more. Having a choice of one or two exercises for pregnant women daily can suffice in making childbirth easier.

If you would like a less painful and traumatic birth consider a pregnancy yoga dvd, it may even help to make child birth an easier process.

If you have never tired yoga before becoming pregnant, it might actually be the best time to try something completely new. In saying that many people do actually try yoga for pregnancy because of the aches and pains they fell during the first trimester. Yoga can give you relief from bloating, nausea, muscle cramps, swollen feet and heartburn if you don’t feel like hitting the gym.

Yoga Poses that May Help

The pelvic rock, the camel pose and tree pose are just a few f the moves in a pregnancy yoga DVD that can help energize and revitalize your system if you are feeling sluggish during the pregnancy days. Shoulder stretches and a queen dancer pose are also some asanas that the famous Lamaze institute recommends with prenatal yoga DVD. It helps with preparation for labor and delivery by strengthening the core muscles.

Speaking of which there are some yoga poses that you can use even while in the delivery room such as squats, downward facing dog pose (with support of course) and the cat or cow pose. With time and a bit of practice and the help of a pregnancy yoga DVD the poses will become more instinctive and natural.

How can Yoga Help After Birth?

If you are suffering from even the mild baby blues or also known as postpartum depression, it is important to continue mild yoga poses with your doctor’s permission. If you have had a cesarean section or if you had multiples or a complicate delivery and episiotomy, it might not be recommend for you until you are completely healed.

If you get the go ahead from your doctor using your pregnancy yoga DVD is a great way to help you get back into shape. You will be a great role model for your family, feel better about yourself and look great.

Unfortunately all too soon after the birth of a child, the mother starts thinking about how quickly she can lose weight after the pregnancy. This is a situation often made worse by celebrity moms who seem to regain their figures after a mere few short weeks after having a baby. However, the point that is normally overlooked is how important it is for these people to have a perfect shape (not to mention endorsements) for their image which means they can afford to enjoy fast weight loss after their pregnancy.

Most things to help with weight loss after pregnancy are not available to the regular person on the street who will have to face the challenge generally on their own. During this time the new mother’s focus should be on eating a healthy diet and remembering that her body needs to recover from both the term of the pregnancy, and the delivery itself. A healthy diet means one that contains some fiber which should equal around two thousand calories a day; the main constituents of her daily diet should be:

* A healthy combination of carbohydrates (50 percent)

* Thirty percent intake of protein

* 10 percent fats

Although this does not total a full 100 percent, this is because a little luxury is ok for you as long as you don’t overdo it. Despite the amount of time a mother will spend with her new born baby, she still needs to look after herself to regain her metabolic rate and stamina level she had before the pregnancy so moderate exercise is necessary. The idea is that you look forward to the physical activity and enjoy the feeling when it is complete so moderation is the key, otherwise it will feel like a chore and you will give up.

Combined with a healthy diet, this is one of the most effective methods for weight loss after pregnancy but it is important to remember that everyone is different and how much is lost will depend on the individual. Each and every woman will experience certain physical changes once she has given birth (these too vary between individuals) and those will dictate how easy of difficult getting back in shape is going to be. The surest way to lose weight after pregnancy is to maintain that healthy diet and exercise regime you have started so the weight comes off naturally and slowly.

The main purpose is to reduce the overall body fat while improving muscle tone at the same time although this should be a gradual process.Nevertheless, if you follow the advice here there is no reason why you shouldn’t get your old figure and weight back within a year of giving birth. These days losing extra pounds after pregnancy shouldn’t be too difficult you should always remember that some mothers do not lose all of those extra pounds until after the baby has been weaned from the breast.

Safe forms of exercise during pregnancy include brisk walking and swimming, as these can help maintain fitness, increase the flow of oxygen to the foetus and reduce the likelihood of varicose veins or swollen leg muscles. Another popular type or exercise during pregnancy includes going to yoga, tai chi or pilates classes as these are conducted specifically for pregnant women and do not involve strenuous poses that will put endanger the baby or mother in any way.

Plus when you are tired and just feeling a little blue, just by exercising you actually increase your energy.

Here are a few quick things you can do to stay fit during pregnancy, without really having to break out a sweat. Yoga during pregnancy a very good thing for you to practice, especially if you haven’t always been in the best of shape. Not to worry, there are beginning levels here; you don’t have to jump into the human pretzel right away. Try purchasing a set of small weights that you can use throughout the house, like hand weights or wrist weights that can use while walking. Instead of just laying on the couch while you rest you can be lifting small weights.

Get a chair and try doing a couple crunches, 5 to 10 in the beginning to make sure you don’t pull anything. Don’t worry you can always add to it as the weeks go on.

Try running, walking or jogging outside. Not only will this boost up your energy but it’ll also help get your spirits up, especially if you’ve been inside all day. Remember, if you are going for a walk to always bring a drink with you. You don’t want to dehydrate out there. Always make sure that you are wearing comfortable shoes, before you leave the house. If you didn’t always run, ask your doctor if you can. Sometimes a doctor may suggest you walk around the block at first and increase it from there, if you didn’t always do it before you were pregnant.

If you can you may want to try going for a swim or try bicycling. However, if you find that you are accident prone you may want to stay away from the bike. A bike accident is something that can easily happen, even when you’ve always road a bike. Swimming can help you relax and stay cool. Take a dip in the pool near you, they may even have a swim class for pregnant women in your area. This would be a great way to meet other moms.

Whenever you are doing exercises, make sure you aren’t overdoing it. If you believe you could be stop immediately and take a break. You never want to do anything that’ll harm the pregnancy.
